SEED.Photo, the platform dedicated to protecting digital creativity through blockchain, is expanding its mission with two ambitious new projects in The Sandbox metaverse: Lens Legacy and Pixel of Horizon. Both experiences are driven by Alex Atashkar, Co-Founder of SEED.Photo, and aim to redefine how we engage with photography, history, and digital art in the Web3 era.
“Alex Atashkar has always pushed the boundaries of what’s possible in digital art,” said Jad Zeid, Head of Marketing at SEED.Photo. “These initiatives demonstrate a commitment to innovation and preserving culture through engaging, interactive experiences.”
A Journey Through Photography’s Past
Created in partnership with Metatheory, Lens Legacy is an immersive virtual exhibition celebrating the evolution of photography. Within this fully explorable metaverse space, users can walk through defining moments in visual history—featuring iconic images, legendary photographers, and the cameras that captured them.
“We created Lens Legacy not just to showcase photography’s past, but to preserve its soul in a digital world,” said Alex Atashkar. “Our goal is to make cultural preservation interactive, accessible, and permanent within the metaverse.”
Combining storytelling, archival materials, and gamified learning, Lens Legacy transforms education into a hands-on digital experience.
Elevating NFT Photography
Complementing Lens Legacy is Pixel of Horizon, a dynamic NFT gallery built in The Sandbox. Designed to empower digital photographers, this space allows artists to display their work in real time while ensuring authenticity and provenance through blockchain integration.
“Pixel of Horizon allows creators to showcase their work in an environment that respects and verifies originality,” said Alex Atashkar. “In a world increasingly flooded with digital content, giving artists a trusted stage to exhibit their vision is more important than ever.”
The gallery connects collectors, curators, and fans with artists in an interactive environment, fostering a new kind of digital art economy.
Pushing Digital Art Forward
With Lens Legacy and Pixel of Horizon, Alex Atashkar and SEED.Photo are not only celebrating photography—they’re building new models for how culture is shared, protected, and experienced in Web3.
“Our vision at SEED.Photo is about more than technology,” concluded Alex Atashkar. “It’s about empowering creators, honoring heritage, and shaping a future where authenticity thrives—both on and off the blockchain.”
